Contemporary Iconographer from Nicosia, Cyprus. inspired by traditional Orthodox religious imagery and architecture. Has exhibited widely in the cathedrals and abbey’s of England with work also shown in Greece, Holland and Italy. Dimitris artwork attempts to place Orthodox traditions within a modern context while maintaining the ‘windows into eternity’ symbolism.

Using lithographic inks on strong board, layers of colour are laid down on top of each other and later some areas removed with ink stripper to reveal under colours and textures. This process continues until the desired effect is achieved, creating a glazing effect. As the inks are almost solid, brushes are unable to be used, relying purely on the use of hands and cloth in the process of creating the artwork.
